About ISR
Tiny Tridents Swim Academy proudly carries on a tradition of excellence in water safety education, offering ISR Self-Rescue® lessons developed by Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) since 1966. This nationally recognized program prioritizes survival skills, empowering young children (infants and toddlers) to navigate unexpected situations in the water. ISR’s approach goes beyond traditional swimming lessons, focusing on:
- Self-Rescue Techniques: Through a proven curriculum, children learn to independently roll onto their backs, float, and reach the edge of the pool for safety.
- Highly Trained Instructors: ISR instructors undergo rigorous training and certification to ensure the highest standards of safety and effectiveness in the water.
- Building Confidence in Young Minds: The program fosters a sense of self-reliance and water awareness, equipping children to respond calmly in an aquatic environment.
Tiny Tridents Swim Academy understands a child’s natural curiosity. ISR’s program takes this into account, transforming a potential risk into an opportunity to empower young children with potentially lifesaving skills.
learn about isr lessons
Infant Swimming Resource’s Self-Rescue® swimming program is scheduled 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, for 10 minutes each day for an average of 6 weeks. With a focus on safe, customized, one-on-one lessons by certified Instructors, ISR’s survival swimming lessons emphasize health, ongoing program evaluations and parent education to deliver the most effective and safest results in the industry.
The ISR program is for children 6 months to 6 years of age.
Statistics indicate that most children who fall into water are fully clothed. Therefore, once the children are fully skilled they will practice their ISR skills fully clothed.
refresher lessons
Refresher lessons are extremely important in continuing and maintaining your child’s ISR Self-Rescue® skill development. Children grow and develop rapidly from infants to toddlers and young children.
This development process represents improved strength, coordination, and a more finely tuned cognitive ability. In accordance with this growth, children enrolled in ISR return periodically to participate in Refresher Lessons.
